    Description

This technically and physically challenging tour leads to the highest peak in Obersaxen, the Piz Mundaun. Great views and single tracks are guaranteed.

From Ilanz, head through the village of Laven and, after Valmala, snake your way up to 800 metres above sea level to the foothills of Piz Mundaun. A mix of single tracks and alpine roads lead to Cuolm Sura where the final ascent to Piz Mundaun begins. It is advisable to use the chairlift for this section as the route is steep and rough and many need to push their bike up. However, the ascent to the summit is worthwhile. From here you get a phenomenal panorama of the Bündner Oberland with the Chur Rhine Valley in the background. At first the descent takes the same route as the ascent, but then keep left at the first mountain hut and continue on to Mirangia and the farms below Meierhof. The final descent to the Rhine starts here. It starts as a forest road before turning into a winding and fun single track. The small roads on the valley floor lead you back to Ilanz.
