The route to the Tracciolino trail usually starts in Verceia on Lake Mezzola, following the road up almost as far as Casten. Just before the village you reach a small railway - this is the beginning of the Tracciolino trail. The railway connects the reservoir in the Valle di Ratti with the water pipes down to the power station. Follow the tracks and then branch off to the right when you come to a tunnel. The tunnels are lit, so you do not need to carry a light. The Tracciolino trail now leads through the rocky terrain through tunnels and on flat rocky paths, which cut through the otherwise inaccessible terrain. The trail is generally secured on the outside with wire ropes and it requires no great skill to follow - but it does make for great fun and a memorable experience. Take the trail down from above the village of Ci, then push the bike back up the other side to Codera. The route would continue up through more tunnels, but they are collapsed. But this feat of strength to reach Codera is worthwhile. Here you will find two superb caves! Returning by the same route, substitute the asphalt road to Verceia with an excellent single track running parallel to it, down to the village.
