    Description

The Kesch hut is a destination very popular with mountain bikers. Less known is the singletrail through seemingly pristine natural landscape along the Lais da Ravais-ch. The path can either be ridden as a round trip from Bergün or it’s also suitable as a crossing from Davos to Filisur.

In Bergün, ride up the gravel road through Tuors valley up to Chants. This is where the long climb to the Kesch hut begins, initially on a wide path that becomes narrower the higher you climb. The path is always wide enough to drive up to a small all-terrain vehicle on it, so fit mountain bikers will be able to handle this route riding. Taking an extended break at the Kesch hut is rigeur as you enjoy view of the magnificent Piz Kesch, before setting off on the high route to Lais da Raivais at the foot of Sertig pass. These lakes are at various levels in the mountain and have the look of unspoilt nature. To the left of the lakes, a singletrail heads back down, initially tricky, but eventually faster and smoother. The path leads through the Val da Ravais-ch and ends slightly above Chants. Then head back to Bergün on the same road you took up since there are no other singletrail alternatives.

The tour can also be started from Davos. At first you climb up the Sertigvalley on the road, after the last houses you change to a gravel road and climb towards the Sertig pass. You can ride very high up in the valley, and then at the very end the bike has to be pushed and carried a bit to the top of the pass. The effort is worth it, but here you are directly above the idyllic Ravais lakes. The descent to Bergün is identical to it, from Bergün then go on the official mountain bike route via Bellaluna to Filisur and from here by train back to Davos.
