    Monte Lema
    Description

Monte Lema with its mountain railway is a beautiful excursion destination in the Lugano region and offers mountainbikers three demanding singletrail descents. If you are looking for demanding freeride fun off the beaten track and bikeparks, Monte Lema is the place for you.

The first of the three Monte-Lema descents leads over the south ridge and is the most flowy of all three variants. First you circle the summit on the north side and steer over the singletrail to the Passo di Monte Faëta. Here you roll down a forest road for a few metres and then turn left onto a singletrail that leads up and down to a small road. On this road you climb up a few meters and then take the next trail on the right. This leads fast and rough back to the road, where after a few meters the next trail starts on the left. This leads to the edge of the forest above Miglieglia, from where the road leads back to the station of the mountain railway.
Departure number two is on the agenda! This starts at Forcola d'Arasio a little north of Monte Lema. The first part of the descent is very demanding with many heels and switchbacks. From the Alpe Tramboschino the descent becomes easier and faster. After countless curves you reach a gravel road, where after a few meters you turn left and roll back to Miglieglia in a mix of trails and small roads.
Now it's time for downhill number three – the most demanding of all three stretches. The route leads over the trail directly below the mountain railway – a rough and demanding singletrail with many switchbacks in the upper part. The path requires very good riding technique and sufficient suspension travel and leads to Alpe Boscone, where after a few metres on a small road you come to the end of the first descent of the day. This path leads back to Miglieglia.
