    Description

At the entrance to Valtournenche there are some wonderful, little known singletrails, which can also be combined with the year-round gondola lift to Chamois.

The starting point of the tour is the Col de St-Pantaléon, which was also part of the Giro d'Italia. Ours, however, can be lifted with the shuttle bus and saves the 1100 meters from Châtillon. Now, first the ascent to the Col des Bornes and then the long path in direction to the Tsan valley basin is on the agenda. This gravel road usually climbs slightly, but also has some gnarly sections in the first part. Above the Alpe Château the first singletrail descent begins. This leads through a rugged terrain past Alp Betsoloz down to Triatel. Now it becomes really fun: The final stretch to Filey is a wonderful trail, which at the end contains some technical challenges. In Filey you reach the bottom of the Valtournenche valley, which you follow uphill to Buisson and then take the gondola to Chamois. The return journey to Châtillon now takes place on the opposite side of the valley. First you climb up to Pilaz, the crossing with the following singletrail descent to La Magdeleine. Here you change again to a gravel road, which changes into a singletrail just above Promiod. This is the starting point for the long and fun final descent to Châtillon. In the beginning superflowy and fast, in the lower part a bit rougher and more technical. The tour ends ideally in a café in the historic village centre of Châtillon.
