    Cabane de la Tourche

Without diligence no price! If you want to experience the sensational view at the Croix de Javerne and the peak descent down to St-Maurice, you need good seat leather and firm calves. But the effort is worth it – the route is a highlight in the Monthey region.

The start of the tour is at the thermal spa of Lavey. While others indulge themselves in a wellness treatment here, we get right down to business from the start. The ascent via Morcles up to the Cabane de la Tourche is a hard work. A little over 1500 meters of altitude have to be mastered this way. First on an asphalt road, after Chalet des Martinaux on a gravel road. After all, the goal of the ascent is the served Cabane La Tourche. You can also enjoy the panorama while having a snack: From Mont Blanc to the Dents du Midi and Lake Geneva, the view from up here is exceptional! The hut is the starting point of the long descent towards Bex. First, it leads over the ridge path past the Croix de Javerne down to the alp of the same name. A few meters of gravel road are required to then steer into the supertrail to Les Mont de Bex under the wheels. The path is steep in parts, but first-class to ride, partly like in a bobsleigh run. After the group of houses, there is a few meters on a gravel road to relax until the last part of the way down to Châtel leads again on a trail. Along the creek Courset you will finally descend to Lavey and roll back to the starting point at the thermal spa. Bet that the bathers did not have such a brilliant day?

Note: At the fork just below the Croix de Javerne, you can take the left-hand road directly down to Les Monts de Bex. This path is also worthwhile, but much more challenging than the variant via Les Lués.
