    Description

The ascent to Col Rosset begins in Thumel, where the road ends in the Val di Rhêmes and turns into a gravel road. Up to here you can ideally start from a shuttle service. Continuously climb the gravel road to the top of Rifugio Benevolo. From now on, carrying is announced. A steep path leads up the left side of the mountain. The intermediate section into the valley of the Grand Vaudala is again possible to ride, that is then followed by a mountain path leading up to the Col Rosset. Almost 1200 metres of altitude are overcome in this way, until it turns into a steep, technical, and for good riders, very fun descent down to Lake Rosset. Then the next single trail climb starts. This time, the path is almost rideable up to the pass and leads through a surreal rock landscape. The descent back to Thumel through the Vaudaletta valley is very demanding, initially the trail is hardly recognisable. With increasing distance it gets better, until it finally leads into a beautiful forest descent with many serpentines back to Thumel.
Tip: From Colle Leynir the bike can be carried to the top of Taou Blanc (3438 metres above sea level). The descent on the ascent route is completely rideable with the exception of a short section. In this way, the route becomes one of the great experiences possible on the Aosta Valley by bike.

Tipp: From Colle Leynir the bike can be carried to the summit of Taou Blanc (3438 meters above sea level). The descent on the ascent route is completely mobile with the exception of a short section. In this way, the route becomes one of the great experiences possible on the Aosta Valley by bike.
