    Description

The Arnisee lake sits in an idyllic location on a high plateau far above the steep Reuss valley. It marks the end point of an excellent mountain bike route and is the starting point for the first-class descent into Intschi.

Follow the signposted mountain bike route from Amsteg up the valley to Wiler. Now go up on the road towards Gurtnellen, and continue past Ober Gurtnellen until the road turns into a gravel track at Schipfenberg, leading to the Arnisee. This is located on a small plateau, and on the horizon, the peaks of Windgällen and Bristen rise up into the sky. The descent initially follows the ascent route until you turn onto the single-track trail to Intschi at Rinderstafel. From Intschi, head along the mountain lane back to Amsteg. Note: The entire route is signposted as Mountain Bike Route 407.
