    Description
    Platta (Aletschgletscher)
    Description

The tour starts with an advantage at Brig station, goes by train to Fiesch and from here by gondola up to Fiescheralp. On an alpine path, you can climb slightly uphill north to the tunnel, which provides a direct route to lake Märjelen. Here you are already directly on the Aletsch glacier, which fills far down into the wide valley floor. It is recommended to take a detour to the Platta lookout point. The following trail to the Moosfluh station begins with a pushing section and as a result is not rideable for all mountain bikers. Less experienced riders walk here now and again. The fantastic view of the Aletsch glacier and the mountains behind it makes the hardships fade into the background. At the Moosfluh station the long descent to Brig begins. You reach the Riederalp via the Häderagrat and the Riederfurka, at the mountain station of the gondola the descent continues. The path leads to Mutt and from there as a technically very challenging single trail with many steps and serpentines to Bitsch. Good technical riders experience true joy at this section, less experienced deviate to the mountain roads via Ried-Mörel. From Bitsch, follow the river Rotten (Rhône) to Brig station.

Note: Recently a bike prohibition notice board was installed at the trail start at Märjelen. The path is and remains one of the most attractive bike routes in the region. The tour should not be taken in the high season or on weekends because there are many hikers on the route between Märjelensee and Moosfluh station.

Note: Recently, a bike ban board was installed at the start of the trail near Märjelen. The way is and remains one of the most attractive bike routes in the region. The tour should not be taken in the high season or on weekends because then many hikers on the route between Märjelensee and Moosfluh station are on the way.
