Der Finne Matti Lehikoinen gewinnt den Top-to-Bottom-Eliminator in Leogang vor Cedric Gracia und David Vazquez. Das spektakuläre Downhill-Rennen wird jeweils zu viert gestartet und die beiden schnelleren erreichen die nächste Runde. Lehikonen gewann jeder seiner Läufe und hat beim ersten Rennen sogar Zeit, kurz anzuhalten und eine schnellere Linie zu inspizieren. «I looked back in my first heat and I had 200m on the 2nd guy so I decided to use the time to my advantage and check out some lines. I only got 4 training runs in before the race, and the course was changing a lot, so I deliberately went quite fast in the first heat so I could build up enough distance to allow me two stops on key sections of the course. It?s a bit cheeky I guess, but it was worth it,» meinte Lehikonen im Ziel. Im Rennen, das mit einem Preisgeld von 10'000 Euro namhafte Fahrer in die österreichische Freeride-Ecke Leogang. Schweizer Spitzenfahrer waren allerdings keine am Start. |
